Pray for Japan: A Requiem of Hope from Beirut, is a Requiem event organized through the cooperation of the Lebanese and Japanese people living in Lebanon.

This event is free and open to all those who are able to join us and show solidarity with the people of Japan. It is a time to pause and reflect upon the lives of all those who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami that took place in Japan on March 11, 2011.

Kyle Kamal Helou, Lebanese-American Shotokan Karate-Do instructor and Shakuhachi player, will play traditional requiem Japanese music on the Shakuhachi to a Photo Presentation put together by the Japanese community in Lebanon.

The event will be held at the ROBERT MOUAWAD PRIVATE MUSEUM in Zokak El Blat, Beirut - LEBANON, on Monday April 11, 2011 starting at 7:00pm. (The museum is located in front of the Japanese Embassy in Beirut, and close to the Serai district. For more detailed directions, please contact museum personnel at: 01-980-970)

SPECIAL THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS IN LEBANON:
The Robert Mouawad Private Museum, The Japan Academic Center (CAJAP) - Saint Joseph University, The Japan Karate Shoto Federation, The Japanese Community Association of Lebanon, and Bookmark Library for their cooperation and continued support in bringing this event.

That's awesome Kyle. Break a leg. I'm so happy to hear of everyone going out and playing shakuhachi.
I just performed at a benefit for Japan co-sponsored by the Japan Society of New York. Jim Schlefer is his students are playing the the huge 12 hour concert this Saturday at the Japan Society. Their combine efforts in the past three weeks raised over 3 million dollars for Japan relief.
