Dear friends, here much interested in Watashumi Doso Roshi, i have plenty of his music but cannot find much about his teachings or words.
Can you hel me with links to materials like talks or interviews, also about and from the ones that continue his Path?
Thanks a lot, and greetings from Argentina

There is a video that may still be available online called 'Sukiyaki and Chips' which includes an interview with Watazumi Doso. He discusses abandoning orthodox zen training because he felt limited by the lack of movement and the limitations on breathing. He demonstrates part of his 6 hour daily routine of exercise with the jo (short stick used as a weapon), and discusses an encounter with a group of musicians which included John Cage. The video ends with some shakuhachi playing.

Here is a link to Christopher Blasdel’s retelling of his brief, unedifying encounter with Watazumi.

wooou! the article really gives a bad image of Watashumi.... a pity.
He was i think 82 years old at the time, though it is no excuse.....

Still i cannot find about his teachings and method, maybe there is nothing written at all...

Read it again. I don't think it is a bad thing that Watazumi had no time for a dilettante dealer, and clearly gave a wonderful lesson to a "student" ...... you only have to listen to the "sukiyaki and chips" video to see the wonderful mischief in the man.

One of the two Journals of the Shakuhachi Society books has a good amount about Watazumi.
