Hello fellow Komuso. My name is Marc. I am playing Shakuhachi since 1993. Lived in Japan for five years. I speak Japanese fluently. My teacher is Shiku Yano (Watazumi lineage). Recently I met
Hiroyuki Kodama and we harvested bamboo together last year in November. I like hiking in the Japanese mountains in Gunma and Nagano. The spirits and mountain gods are really there in Japan. I can strongly feel rhe connection when I am in the mountains. I know many holy places there (waterfalls, old trees, rocks, springs). Two years ago I started making Shakuhachi from Nagano mountain bamboo. This year 2019 I will be in November in Japan researching old komuso temples. Did anyone do research on the temples Ichigetsu-ji in Chiba and Echigo Myoan-ji?
