|Places are still available for the workshop of the Kokusai Shakuhachi Kenshukan teachers (shihan) Horacio Curti, Jim Franklin and Véronique Piron, 18-20.05.2012, in Neuwiller les Saverne, Alsace (France). In beautiful surroundings in a small village, this workshop offers an opportunity for beginners and experienced players alike to receive tuition and input from a team of three teachers in the lineage of Yokoyama Katsuya.
The fee of 243€ (non-ESS members), 218€ (ESS members or non-ESS members with concession) or 198€ (ESS members with concession) covers tuition, accommodation in shared, dormitory-style rooms from 18.05.12 to 20.05.12, and all meals from the evening of 18.05.12 to lunch on 20.05.12.
The repertoire will focus on the honkyoku of Yokoyama's school, as well as sankyoku and modern/contemporary music. On the evening of 18.05.12, the three teachers will perform a small private concert for the participants. Tuition will be primarily in English, but will also be available in French, German, Spanish and Italian.
The workshop has been planned for a limited number of participants, and the presence of three master teachers ensures a high level of tuition in small groups. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, then please e-mail Jim Franklin for an application form:
