Do you know any quartets?
Are they then written for shakuhachi SATB?
I have played some trios from a couple of books with Yamamoto Hozan compositions. I think there were quartets as well.
But otherwise I don't know any.

Ichiro Seki has written four songs for shakuhachi quartet based on traditional folk tunes. The CD and the sheet music are available from Monty.

The Tozan honkyoku piece Asa Giri (Morning Fog) is a quartet at
times. It has solo, duet, and trio sections as well.

Pleasant piece, in the tradition of Nakao Tozan.

It's #0028 in the catalog.

Marty Regan has written several quartes for shakuhachi and James Schlefer has an arrangement for kumoijishi for 4 shakuhachi.

I got this off a thread on FB on Philip Gelb's wall.
