There was a thread a while back on this piece and there sems to be two pices of the same name.

There a popular song and a Tozan version which is quite different.

I have a version played by Stan Richardson on his 'Moon on the water' Vol I CD

According to Komuso.com:

http://www.komuso.com/pieces/pieces.pl?piece=2604

Yoru no Uta
This is a piece of genre Shinkyoku. Tozan Ryu.
This piece was composed for Shakuhachi by the person Hisamoto Genchi.

Stan: 5. Yoru no Uta

This work was composed by Hisamato Genchi and is part of the Tozan Ryu repertoire of more modern pieces.

The title "Yoru no Uta" means "Night Song" and describes the feeling we have when we see a bright full moon over the ocean.
This song too is filled with longing and the words, sung by a lonely girl reflect on her dreams from the previous nights sleep:

I am trying to track down a score. Any body got one and can share.

I've managed to transcribe the first half but the middle part is going to be a lot more difficult
as its a lot more complicated.

The last part is a repeat of the first section no repeats with a sort of second time ending.

the initial notes of the first section are D G A Bb C D///

Thanks

reply here thanks
