Greetings everyone,

On Saturday April 9 there will be an all day benefit CONCERT FOR JAPAN at the Japan Society in New York City. The traditional Japanese music portion will be from 2:45-4:00pm (14:45-16:00).

At the very end of the concert, myself and a number of students will play "Banshiki," a honkyoku which is played to ease the passing of the spirit from one life to the next. The entire day's events will be live webcast, and I thought that everyone who can should play this piece, or another honkyoku, at the same time, as a wonderful and appropriate way to ease the suffering in Japan. We will play Banshiki at about ten minutes to the hour so if you can, please tune in and join us. Here's the link for the webcast.
