Dear all,

Here is the program for the next edition of the workshop series leaded by Gunnar Jinmei Linder in France.
This will take place at the auditorium « L’Echo » of Le Kremlin-Bicêtre and the Conservatoire of the same town (see addresses below) on the 20 and 21 of May.
Two novelties this year:
● First, there will be parallel sessions allowing to teach to beginners, intermediate and advanced student (Jean-François Lagrost will teach in parallel with Gunnar Linder),
● Second, we will have sankyoku sessions with the string players Mieko Miyazaki and Akari Sagara (for advanced students). Note that the sankyoku piece Zangetsu has already been taught in a previous workshop edition (without string players) so this time the course will focus on how to play it with string players. You are supposed to have seriously prepared it (sound files and scores will be available of course)

The levels are defined as follow:

● group 1 = used of reading classical Kinko notations, familiar with sankyoku
● group 2 = not familiar with Kinko style and notation but having already practiced for 3-4 years
● group 3 = able to play basic pieces but still below the level of group 2.

Please get in touch if you need clarifications about this classification.

Pieces studied:

● group 1: Zangetsu, Reibo-nagashi, Sayama Sugagaki
● group 2: Tsuki
● group 3: Basic exercises and Japanese lullabies

The program is as follows

9:30-12:00: [auditorium] group 1 with Gunnar - honkyoku: Reibo-nagashi
10:00-12:00: [conservatoire] group 2 with Jean-François (group 3 listeners): Tsuki

13:30-16:00: [auditorium] group 1 with Gunnar, Mieko and Akari (group 2 listeners) -
sankyoku: Zangetsu
13:30-15:45: [conservatoire] group 3 with Jean-François
16:00-17:15: [auditorium] rehearsal and soundcheck for concert participants
17:30: [auditorium] Concert
18:45: end of concert

Sunday [auditorium]:

9:30-12:30: group 1 & 2 with Gunnar (group 3 listeners): Tsuki
14:00-17:00: group 1 with Gunnar (group 2 & 3 listeners) - honkyoku: Sayama Sugagaki

The program of the Saturday concert is under construction and attendees of group 1 will take part in it (and possibly some attendees of group 2). Each performer will play at least a piece among:

● Kumoi-jishi renkan
● Akebono Sugagaki renkan

Pieces you are in charge of performing will be discussed between you and Gunnar after your registration.
● Group 1 : 140 euros for 2 days, 80 euros for 1 day,
● Group 2 : 100 euros for 2 days, 60 euros for 1 day
● Group 3 : 40 euros for the Saturday lesson + ability to listen to the whole workshop and concert
