|Honkyoku Intensive Weekend at Dai Bosatsu Zendo
July 19–21, 2013
Playing the Shauhachi is called Sui-Zen, or Blowing-Meditation. The Shakuhachi is the only melodic instrument used in Zen Buddhism. This weekend will also give you the optional opportunity to experience Za-Zen (sitting-meditation), as well as truly feel the relationship between the Shakuhachi and Zen.
Join me in my annual 3-day Retreat at Dai Bosatsu Zendo.
Dai Bosastsu is a beautiful Rinzai-Sect Zen Monastery deep in the Catskills in upstate New York. We have been providing all of their Shakuhachi needs for the past 37 years! There will be separate Honkyoku taught for beginners and more advanced Shakuhachi players. The instructor is Ronnie Nyogetsu Reishin Seldin. For reservations, please call me at 917-207-6724 to register, or email: email@example.com
